Printing and exporting PDX file data

You can choose to report a set of elements from the left panel's hierarchical "tree" view, or attributes from a single element from the right-hand side Attribute/Value grid.

PDX elements

To print or export a set of elements:

  1. In the left-hand panel of the main window, select the element that you want as the "root", or first element, of your report.
  2. Select Print Tree from the File menu. The Print Tree dialog opens.
  3. You can choose to report Only the selected element and its associated child elements, or you can report All elements, regardless of which element is currently selected. You can also choose whether the report will include All attributes and, if so, how you want those attributes sorted. When you've determined the report contents, click on the Preview button to generate the data.
  4. Click on the Print or Export button to direct the preview output. If you click on the Export button, the standard Save As dialog opens. Navigate to the proper location and click the Save button.

You can select the preview and printed report font by clicking on the Select Font button, which opens the Font dialog. This selection will not affect an exported file, which is always saved as plain text.
